I noticed in the weekly newsletter email that CCG is going to try to get limit cash games going next month.  Do we actually have a chance to get enough people to get a table going?  I never see it at the South-Side events that I go to.  I might actually be able to get one of my friends who live in the city to come out to an event if there's some limit action.

Me and my girlfriend would be in for a limit game, even as low as 3/6. 4/8, 5/10 or 6/12 would be better. Limit games are becoming scarce. I HATE 1/2 NL!!! I play, but only when its all there is.

I'd be happy to jump into a limit game to help it get going when I'm not busy!

count me in also. Limit is beautiful. It may be interesting to add a full kill for pots of certain size (say $25-30) instead of 2 wins in a row.

so it would be SB $1, BB $2, small bet of $2 big bet of $4

If the pot goes over $25 it would change to

SB $1, BB $2, KILL will post $4, small bet of $4 big bet of $8

I'd play this all day if we get it going. I'd like to see it at a reduced rake though if possible since the money isn't as big as other games. (hoping for $3?????)

I'd be for a full kill if it's based on pot size.I'm not a big fan of two-in-row kills. It's like being penalized for winning. I played in a 5/10 full kill at Foxwoods and I liked that much better. It became a kill when the pot was $100 or more...

$0.50\$1.00 Limit. thats where the real monies are.

The max rake is $5 or 10% of the pot.  So if you are only talking about a $30 pot the rake would be $3.

I do not see many of the pots going over $30.  It is a low limit game, and the rake is designed to take that into account.

$5 max is not unfair, just got to remember that 75% of the time the pots are between $15-$35 and the rake is from $1-$3 for that average.

Great game and one the hosting charities are going to pursue.

Don't forget Februrary is going to be Cash Game Give Away month.  Two tickets for every hour of cash game you play, and at 5pm one ticket will be drawn and that player will receive a Deepstack Seat! Free money kids, just for playing a game you love.  Nothing wrong with that!

last year, at one of the events, not sure which one, we got a 5/10 limit game going but we played O8 and holdem, one orbit of each game. Was a good game, lots of action. Quite a few of the NL guys played too. I just dont get what everyone sees in the 1/2 NL. I dont know about CCG, but the casinos have to hate it. I've played in games where they are only raking a $1 0r $2 from each pot. When they had limit games they almost always got their $5 or $6 max, even at 5/10. Way more action in the limit games...bigger pots on average.

now that you put the rake that way Kenny, it makes sense. Can we make the KILL based on the amount in the pot? Can we try this tomorrow if possible? Love the cash game give away idea.

HORSE deters people I think.. I think if we start a 3/6 game standard or even just a 2/4 full kill game of Hold em, then add in a game or two later on it'll get people more comfortable then if we just jumped right into a HORSE game.  3/6 LHE and Omaha 8 or better is great, try and add a stud game eventually getting everyone comfortable.  It'd be great to resurrect limit games at our events.

I'll try not to clear everyone out at limit, and yeah that cash game giveaway idea is pretty good, some genius must have come up with it...

I agree with the posts that want to see more limit games spread. Limit HE/Omaha8 is a really good combination. Add to that the stud games, and you have a good format for developing good players. The only time I play NL HE is in a tournament format. Moving players to the HORSE format is the way to go.

Of course we want you to take a seat Russ, Thats exactly why limit is such a good game...lots of people in every hand playing weak holdings and going to far with them. Once you get use to the occasional suckouts, you realize how great the game really is!! you dont raise in low-limit holdem to get people to fold, you raise to build big pots for the times your premium hands come in. I just play tight and watch the fish pass the chips around amongst each other, occasionally taking a few for myself. Difference is, I keep what I take....

Anyone else going to try to give this a go Saturday at Tinley?  I'm going to try to arrive around 2:30 looking for some $2-4 FL, but if it's not going, I'm going to wait while I play some $1-2 NL - unless I lose or win too much money to stay.

  6.
Definitely the best way to hang out and try to win a free deepstack seat!

I'm in for the 2-4 if I'm out of the tourney. I think if a table gets started, it will fill up. Any chance of:

1-adding full kill of 4-8 or 1/2 kill of 3-6 based on the size of pot won (more than $30 or $40, not based on 2 in a row)

2- adding alternating round of Oamah hi-lo, same limits, making it a mixed table

Looking forward to this Saturday. Limit is beautiful. Hoping to play with Chuck Norris for the first time.

Man, with the current promotion, we really need to get some fixed limit going.  I've been playing so much of it lately, it seems to be the only style I can do anymore.  At Tinley on Saturday, because there were no fixed limit tables available, I sat at a no-limit table and realized very quickly that I was out of my league, and so I had to get up before I lost any money.

C'mon people, it may not be as exciting, but it's a great battle of skill nevertheless!

CCG is encouraging players to try $2-$4 Limit Holdem.  You would be surprised how much money is on the table, and a $5-$10 game typically has more money on it than a $1-$2 NLH Table.

There is also a special of $3 Rake and FREE $25 Sit N Go's every hour given away to full limit tables.  How could you say that is not willing to accomodate?

I would certainly play the PLO myself, if I can't get an FL game going.  :)  That would definitely be better than $1-2 NL. ;)

Also, Ken, I would like to thank you for continuing to come up with the FL incentives, in spite of the number of players typically not being there.  The prospect of a $3 max rake is incredible.  If we can get a limit table going, at whatever stakes, whether they be $2-4 or up to $5-10, it can make a great impact.  It definitely makes me want to try to get this going at CCG, instead of giving up and making the long drive to the Horseshoe, among all the cigarette smoke in those Indiana casinoes.

Who even said $1-2 limit?  That would be worthless!  The small blind would have to be $0.50!  That kind of small denominations of chips is for online play.

$1-2 NL was mentioned in comparison....that's it...

$2-$4 or $3-$6 would be a great game to introduce players to limit holdem.  I am a big fan of Limit Holdem, makes me loose money slower than my normal crappy NLH play.  How about Sunday for a Limit Game in Joliet, any takers?
